This work continues the series' investigation into posthumanism understood as a visual ethic: it focuses not on the human figure, but on what remains when it disappears. Architecture, water, and nature do not act as mere scenery, but as agents that construct identity and memory.
The artwork subtly introduces the presence of the forest onto the wall—trees that were there before the house was built. It does not depict a landscape.It is not an exterior presence, but a memory inscribed on the architectural surface. It is nature remembered, not observed; a trace that persists even within a built environment.
ESSENTIA XI and ESSENTIA XII place architecture at the heart of dwelling, nature as the memory of being, and absence as the condition that activates the sense of space. Both works propose that identity does not depend on the represented body, but on the dialogue between matter, light, time, and the relationship with nature. Is a balance between human and nature possible?
